FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

February, the month of Love and in keeping with a certain kind of love, SHOP now has a red light bulb… not really, they just didn’t have any clear ones at Wilko’s. Wait, how unromantic of SHOP! Seriously. Actually, we are very affectionate round here, so we wish you a love-ly month and in keeping with it we have themed February with a subject totally unrelated to Love – it is DIY Month at SHOP .

NEWS

24 Hour Drawathon – Review
The Drawathon was more like a funathon, the combination of lack of sleep and energy bars causing much delirium inspired mirth. That aside, it was also very productive, with one drawerer creating a couple of one-panel ‘quips’, followed by a few five-panel regulars, to the finale of a fifteen-panel mini-epic. How’s about that?! Check out the January blog for hour by hour photos and some pics of the pics.

Frame Amnesty
As SHOP will be having monthly changing exhibitions from now on and as many artists are very poor and live in garrets and eat gruel, we are asking you lovely SHOP clubbers - if there are any unwanted frames lurking in your abodes, that SHOP can have them so that they can be used to frame all the lovely work from all the lovely artists.

SHOP’s Advisory Board
The first SHOP Advisory Board meeting took place in January and it was very productive - SHOP is so lucky to have such a wonderful, clever and enthusiastic board. They had loads of great ideas for new events at SHOP, as well as for ways of making SHOP bigger and better. If you would like to find out more about becoming part of the Advisory Board, drop us a mail, or have a look at the website:

MotherSHOP
Saturday 27th February
The Bristol Bike Project
11am – 7pm
SHOP-per and super-cyclist (we’re sure he has many other identifying features besides), Nick Hand, has designed some lovely tee shirts for the Bristol Bike Project, a charity that helps children who wouldn't be able to have a bike, build one. It supplies all the bits and the expertise and the kids cycle their self-built bikes home at the end of the day. How good is that? And what’s more the tee shirts are dead good too.

Where’s the love?
