Nature Month at SHOP!

Hello and welcome to Nature Month at SHOP! The clocks have gone forward and everything is bursting into life (sort of) so what better time to celebrate the magnificence of Mutha-Nature? But first, some bits of news for you.

Easter Opening Hours
SHOP is just like you, we like to celebrate Easter as well … by stuffing our faces with chocolate, so in order to dedicate as much time to this as possible to this pursuit, SHOP opening times over Easter weekend will be slightly reduced:

Good Friday: 12pm-5pm
Easter Saturday: 11am-7pm (as normal)
Easter Sunday: CLOSED
Easter Monday: CLOSED



EVENTS

April is packed full of Nature themed events for you - and remember they are all free to attend for Shop Club Members.

Exhibition: Rare Breeds by Sarah Dennis
2nd April – 30th April
11am – 7pm
(Excluding Sundays)
Opening Night – 7.30pm Thursday April 1st


Sarah’s nature themed work will be on display throughout April in SHOP. Opening night is Thursday 1st April at 7.30pm and will be an evening of drawing for all with interactive activities from art collective 'Hot Soup' including a workshop and tables where people can make their own mini-comics. As well as looking at Sarah's lovely prints, badges, zines and toys of course.

WorkSHOP: Capturing Nature
Running all month


Do you have a sly fox rustling through your bins at night? Are you woken up stupidly early by the dawn chorus? Well this month SHOP is going all interactive and asking you to try and capture these creatures in the act! No, no need to call the R.S.P.C.A. we mean capturing them with your camera, phone or Dictaphone. Then send them to us and we will put them into a show reel and exhibit them at a Fillum Club later this month!

TalkSHOP: Discussion Evening

It’s just an hour out of the month to get together and find out a little something about someone who you didn’t know before – what could more natural than talking to a fellow human being?


WorkSHOP: Potting for the Home
Saturday 17th April
2pm – 4pm


Come along to a WorkSHOP and learn how to grow beautifully natural and delicious things in your own home. You don’t need a garden or an allotment; there are still many varieties of plants that you can grow in your own lounge! Get in touch to reserve a place, or for more information.


TalkSHOP: Introduction to Permaculture
Wednesday 21st April

Join SHOP for a presentation of some of the principles of permaculture, how it came about and why. Explore some examples of permaculture projects happening in Bristol. Get in touch to reserve your place.


WalkSHOP: A City Centre Nature Walk
Monday 26th April
7pm – 8.30pm


Do you find yourself thinking that Nature only happens in the countryside? That city-dwellers can only see it on the telly? Well, you are wrong! Join SHOP for a guided nature walk around Bristol city centre, starting and finishing at SHOP, spot lesser spotted plants and animals and be amazed at Nature on your doorstep. Easter Egg Hunt!
Come and hunt for an Easter Egg in SHOP all day on Easter Saturday, find the cunningly hidden treats and take them home with you for scoffing quick smart.


SHOP CLUB NOTICEBOARD

Did you know Shop Club member, Stephi Briggs teaches Bellydance every Wednesday at 7.45pm until 8.45pm at Netham Park Pavilion, Redfield. For a meagre fiver you can learn the ancient art of bellydancing, improve your posture, tone up and have fun. All levels are welcome.
