Photomarathon: THE RESULTS!

SHOP's very first Photomarathon took place on Saturday the 15th May and was a great fun and successful event.

Participants had to take 12 photos on 12 topics which were released over 12 hours.

All photos from all the participants are on exhibition in SHOP until the end of May, which isn't long now, but on the exterior of the wall of SHOP, one photograph from each participant has been enlarged and pasted up for as long as the weather and graffitti will allow:

WorkSHOP: Make a Pinhole Camera

Saturday at SHOP saw a simple WorkSHOP demonstrating the principle behind the inner workings of a camera. Using old cartons and wax paper SHOP created basic Pinhole Cameras to show the way light through a camera projects an upsidedown, backwards image, ususally onto film, but in SHOPs case onto paper.

Here's a pic of someone testing out their newly created camera!

SLEEVEFACE!

SLEEVEFACE

1st - 31st May (excluding Sundays)

ShOp has set up an interactive 'Sleeveface' space in the Lounge for use throughout the month. Use the ShOp vinyl and a disposable camera to recreate record sleeves which will then be exhibited throughout May.
Checkout the website for inspiration, or have a flick through the official Sleeveface book in the Lounge when you come in to commit yourself to wax.
